I was diagnosed with prostrate cancer in January 2016. Dr gujral was very clear in articulating my options his preferred treatment method, the pros and cons of this option and was quite clear in keeping me appraised of the downside. He advised me to seek as many second opinions and explore all the options for my treatment as I wished before making what was a very important decision. I found his professional direct and straightforward approach very helpful in coming to terms with the decisions and the consequences of those decisions I had to make at this very important time. Following on from this, I elected for open radical prostectomy surgery. I received first class health care ( although this was undertaken at Spire Hartswood privately) and an excellent outcome and I am very grateful to Dr gujral for his care and professionalism

Mr. Gujral, in my experience, is very knowledgeable and also - importantly for a surgeon - a good listener. My recent consultation at Spire Hartswood was somewhat delayed; however, I understand that Mr Gujral had a very busy schedule which, from the point of view of reputation, is to his credit. He recognises the priority of providing good medical treatment over that of keeping to ultra strict timetable schedules. I can definitely recommend Mr. Gujral.

He made me feel at ease straight away although I am a very panicky person. I felt I was in very good hands and he took time to listen to my concerns. He explained every step of my treatment in detail and was very thorough with the investigations. Also after my procedure the aftercare was excellent. I would definitely recommend him to all my family and friends and I would like to say a big thank you. Mrs Sevim Cinar

Profile

I am a Consultant Urological Surgeon having been appointed in 2003. I have extensive experience in most aspects of Urology and have done thousands of operations as a consultant. Cancer surgical cases are audited nationally by BAUS. I also have interests in minimally invasive surgery and enhanced recovery programmes which I instituted at our unit. I am keen to provide holistic empathic care to all my patients and their families.
I did my Medical School training at St Bartholomew's Hospital Medical School (University of London) from 1985 to 1991 and achieved a First Class Honours Intercalated degree. My postgraduate training in Surgery and Urology was undertaken at Leicester, Oxford and Bristol. This included a dedicated period of Research when I ran a national Laser prostatectomy trial. I have published extensively and presented academic papers all over the world. I have a keen interest in medical education and have been a Director of Medical of Education, Deanery Tutor as well as a Foundation Programme director. I am an associate Professor of Urology at AUC. I have been a Clinical Director, Lead and Cancer Lead Surgeon for several years. I have sat on several Royal College of Surgery committees including the FRCS Urol exam setting group and the Invited Review mechanism for clinical governance.
I have many interests outside of Medicine which hopefully make me a better Doctor.
